// I’m heading off for the night purely because i have to be up in like six hours to get ready for school and the review meeting which is going to be hell, purely because it’s a week until the christmas holidays and i still don’t have a science textbook.
Anyway, goodnight/evening/morning, I hope you all have a great time
God she didn’t want to wake up. She didn’t care who was at the door. Lucy just did. not. want. to. get. up. But, she did. For she was alone now, Matt and the rest of the gang being gone. Her house had turned to emptiness. She couldn’t sleep in her room, because of the memories it contained, so the living room was her new safe haven. She sat and watched netflix, day, after day, after day— unless she was working, which she did nearly sixteen hours a day.
As the girl approached the door, she fixed her hair as best she could, opening the wooden door with a slight smile, “Hell—….” Lucy stopped and stared at him, her eyes filling with a slideshow of emotions; pain, sorrow, confusion— but most importantly guilt. When James disappeared, it wasn’t out of the usual…but he hadn’t come back. How long had it been?
Everything had been a mess, his not-so-little ‘family’, his files, his cover story, everything. Everyone, had been a mess. The girls, the guys, his boss, his sister, himself. Harper had said something along the lines of ‘We’ve forgotten why we do this, who we do this for’ before suggesting they take a short break. That short break, well it wasn’t short.
It was long enough to give the others a chance to move to New York and start over. Long enough to get Marley a job, working with the people they always worked against, the feds. Long enough for both Maeve and him to forget, or at least try to (not so successfully, might I add) the people who had made their walls crumble down around them. It was long enough for him to leave his feelings on the backburner, though they were always there.
Seeing her there, the slight smile on her lips as she opened the door, he could feel all of those feelings, along with a rush of new ones, or newer ones at least; guilt, pain, regret, annoyance. The last being at himself. James watched her carefully, brown hues locked on hers, watching for any sign of anything, what he did see only seemed to make his stomach sink. He never should have left, especially without a proper explanation.
Untucking a hand and running it through his hair, he offered the smallest of smiles to the girl, “—Hey, Luce.”
"Would tell that girl I like her?" he joked, his face still as serious as ever.
She shrugged, nodding slowly, “If you told that guy over there—” She paused to nod in the male’s direction, ”—that I find him hot, sure.”
quite often, really. There are some nights where Lucy’s nightmares are horrible, and I try getting her to interact with someone, but honestly all she really, truly wants is James when she gets so upset. James was her first relationship on this blog, and he will always hold an incredibly special spot in her heart.
Now, Matt’s a hard one to tell. Some days he’s really emotional, and I kind of blame it on her. Like before, Maeve was one of Matt’s first relationships, and he really loved her. He may not have said it often, but he did— and still does. As a mun, its difficult not to let his feelings for her slide into other threads with him.
aND I KNOW YOU DIDN’T ASK BUT MADIE MISSES THEM TOO BC THEY WERE MY BABIES FIRSTS ;-;
He kept glancing back at the car, gaze flicking between the house, and it, mind racing at the possibilities of what could happen, the worst scenario, the best, and everything in between. He knew that if the worst happened, he should probably move on, or simply let his sister and everyone else tell him how stupid he is, but in all honesty he didn’t know what he would do if anything else happened.
Taking one last deep breath, and noticing the glare which his sister donned, he turned to face the house, strolling up to it and knocking. Stepping back he tucked his hands into the pockets of his jeans, teeth biting into his bottom lip, anxiety most probably written on his features.
